Family Ministry Center Update

As of Dec. 20, 2009 - Construction Update

- next update in 2010 - Merry Christmas!

The retaining wall between the Wesley Center and the sanctuary has been completed. The new gas feed line has been connected to the sanctuary. Wall panels were poured and several more wall pours are scheduled prior to Christmas.

In preparation for sanctuary transformer relocation which is still scheduled for the early part of the week of 28 December, conduit is being installed to the new transformer locations. The sanctuary is scheduled to be closed during this transformer relocation.

The maze of underground piping between the sanctuary and the FMC has caused both the FMC transformer and the relocated sanctuary transformer to be located between the sanctuary chiller and the walkway from the sanctuary kitchen door. This will result in the removal of much of the shrubbery around the chiller.

The new part of the Loop Road is closed to all but construction traffic.

Sign the beam!Remember, a white “signing” beam is in place until early January in the grass area between the new sanctuary parking and the Loop Road. Marker pens have been placed near the beam for your use if you want to sign it. This beam will be one of the top beams in the two story portion of the FMC. All church members are invited to sign the beam, as we did with a top beam in the sanctuary some 20 years ago, prior to it being placed in the building.

Please remember that this is a large construction area and no one should enter this area without prior authorization. During construction, proper clothing, hardhats, safety glasses and steel-toed footwear are required.

Pastor Welcome

BuddyThe world is a busy and complicated place.  Often it is harsh and cruel.  It is easy to feel lost, broken, out of place and overwhelmed. If you are hungering and thirsting for a food and drink that satisfies the soul, you will find it at Union United Methodist Church.  Union is a family of faith bound together by its common need for mercy, grace, and forgiveness.  Regardless of who you are, where you are from -- whether you are single, married, divorced, young, middle aged, or older -- have a life filled with success or one riddled with failure, you are welcome in this congregation just as you are.

Union UMC has two beautiful worship services of the Traditional style -- 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. held in the Sanctuary.

There is a  Contemporary Worship  service held in the Chapel, beginning at 10:45 a.m.  This relax dressed service, has up-beat music performed by the “Praise Band” each week. The service includes Children’s Time followed by Children’s Church and occasional drama and skit performances. Nursery is provided.
